Michael P. Fleming & Associates is proud to announce the formation of scholarships named in honor of the Castlemahon History Group. One $2,500.00 scholarship is available for a graduate of Castlemahon National School (Castlemahon, Limerick, Ireland) entering third level (University) for the first time. Applicants will submit an essay dealing with any aspect of Irish History. Essays previously written for school are certainly acceptable but must be original work of the student. The winner will be announced by in July after selection by a committee of the Castlemahon-Feohanagh History Group. The winning essay will be published in the group’s parish annual.
About Castlemahon History Group
Castlemahon History Group is based in the village of Castlemahon, County Limerick Ireland and for over 30 years has continuously published a Parish Annual containing interesting articles on local happenings as well as historical Irish events. It is one of the longest-serving such organizations in Ireland and has been honored by the president of Ireland and two Texas governors.
About Michael P. Fleming
Michael P. Fleming’s ancestors lived in Castlemahon (aka Mahoonagh), County Limerick, Ireland for hundreds of years before being forced out by the Irish Potato Famine of the 1840’s. He has been associated with the Castlemahon History Group for over twenty years and was made an Honorary Member in 2007. In addition to practicing law in Houston, Texas where he served as the elected Harris County Attorney, Mr. Fleming is also licensed as a Solicitor by the Law Society of Ireland.
